HSI2025 – Hitotsubashi Summer Institute: Microeconomic Theory held at Mercury Tower

On July 12 – 13, 2025, a research conference, HSI2025 –Hitotsubashi Summer Institute: Microeconomic Theory, was held as a part of the research project “Norms, Institutions, and Mechanism Design: Theoretical and Empirical Studies for Comprehensive Social Sciences”.

The conference was held in person under the theme of “Microeconomic Theory” at Mercury Tower. The conference consisted of sessions on decision theory, game theory, and mechanism design, which are major topics in microeconomics. A total of 9 researchers presented their research and 67 participants engaged in discussions in research presentation sessions over 2 days.

Assistant Professor Paul H. Y. Cheung (University of Texas at Dallas), Professor Yukio Koriyama (Ecole Polytechnique), Assistant Professor Kota Murayama (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), Senior Lecturer Toru Suzuki (University of Technology Sydney), Associate Professor Jingyi Xue (Singapore Management University) and Professor Jun Zhang (Nanjing Audit University) were invited from abroad and presented “Revealed Reciprocity”, “Fixed Population Consistency and Characterization of the ELS Values”, “Social Value of Public Information in Large Network Games”, “Foot-in-the-Door and Door-in-the-Face: An Imperfect Memory Approach”, “Local Dominance” and “Bundled School Choice” respectively. Additionally, Mr. Tomoki Tsujita (Kobe University) was invited to as a domestic speaker to present “Strategic Information Transmission with Informed Player’s Veto”.
From Hitotsubashi University, Associate Professor Daiki Kishishita (Graduate School of Economics) and Professor Nozomu Muto (Graduate School of Economics) presented “Population Dynamics of Conspiracy Thinking”, “Bid Uncertainty under Collusive Behavior in Public Procurement Auctions” respectively.
